From Larry Dark:

Howdy

We have had a week of spring time  last week. Its anyone’s guess on this week . As always this time of year all events are Weather Permitting. The trophy shoot at wilderness felt like an early summer shoot. Ashlan Forester , better known as half took home the honors of high gun overall with a 97. Some of you guys are going to have to step it up to give her some competition , obviously I am not. All I can do is say Congrats Half.

The Five stand yesterday was great. We had a lot of folks and I don’t think the shooting even slowed down while I was there. If you haven’t shot our five stand you should come out next time and give it a try.

A couple things we have coming up in the next few weeks are Trap Doubles Marathon which will consist of 200 targets .  One hundred will be shot before lunch and one hundred after lunch.  This time will be a little different with the registered targets. You can choose to register or not. Prizes will be given for both non registered and registered. This will be held on 2/29 which is a 5th Saturday and Leap Year.

The other thing you may want to mark on your calendar is the “Changing of the Keys” Joe Trujillo will be set up on 2/23 which is the last Sunday of February. I know this is way out but every member can have access to our shotgun program anytime they want to shoot during regular shooting hours, and this is a big deal. I think we are the only club in the area that has this benefit and anyone that likes to shoot shotguns should take advantage.

Tuesday 1/14  *Open practice on the hill. We will be shooting Trap and Skeet. Ranges open by 4:30p

Friday 1/17 *Arts old Codgers will be shooting trap and skeet. If your off they would love to have you. They shoot from 9:30a till their nap time around mid day.

Saturday 1/18 *Cherokee will host the regional tournament. Sign ups are from 9a till 10:30a. Following the Trophy Shoot we will have our Big 50 Trap shoot. Lunch is provided, this month will be KFC with Chicken ,Tater Wedges, and Cole slaw. One thing about Cherokee , even if you cant shoot well you can still eat well! Come on out for a big day of shotgunning , bring lots of shells and have a ball.

Hope to see everyone around the range ld
