Summers here, well technically on Wednesday the 21st . Its time to get out and shoot some targets. We have a lot of shooting opportunities here at Cherokee Rod and Gun.
We have new members added to the email list weekly. I would like to say , welcome. If you would like to have your own key to the shotgun facilities , you can get one. All you need to do is….
*be trained by someone that has a key
*sign up for shotgun range duty 8hrs through out the year
*5.00 key charge
this will allow you to shoot trap and skeet anytime during normal shooting hours.
Also if your new to the shotgun program and have “shotgun” questions, feel free to contact me. If I cant answer your question, I will help you find someone that can.
Tuesday 6/20
*Open practice on the hill. They get started mid day and shoot till early afternoon
*Iron Man League will finish up with the last night. You can use this for a make up or to better a previous score. Range open by 4:30p
Friday 6/23
*Arts old Codgers will be shooting trap and skeet on the hill. They get started at 9a and shoot till lunchtime. (normally naptime)
Saturday 6/24
Five stand !!! The five stand crew will be ready for shooters by 9a. The range will be kept open until shooters stop signing up. If you’ve not shot five stand…your missing out. Its very challenging but shootable. Rodney and the guys will change a target or two on occasion just to keep things fresh. For anyone that hasn’t shot our five stand, most targets can be broken with skeet choke in a 12 ga. I normally prefer an improved cylinder, just in case you get some wind from your back that will push a couple targets out a little farther. If you’ve not shot fivestand , Let someone know when you sign up and they will walk you through the first round so you know where the targets are coming from.
