A news letter containing information about a work day on 12/9 for the new pistol bay and on line renewals was just sent out. It may be viewed at https://mailchi.mp/f30c75a46f46/cherokee-rod-and-gun-club-2024-renewal-and-dec-9th-work-day The contents of the news letter are as follows

December 9th Work Day for New Pistol Bay
No, it’s not open yet but we have to plant trees before the county will inspect it and give us our certificate of occupancy.  We will be asking for the inspection as soon as the trees are planted.  We are doing all we can to get it open by the end of the year.

We have a work day scheduled for Saturday, December 9th at 9am and will last until we are done. This is going to be a pretty big job, we need to plant 55 trees on the new pistol range for noise abatement.

Larry Costine and Joe Young will be heading the project. We will have equipment to dig the holes and move the trees. All you need are gloves, rakes and shovels.  If someone has a pair of small bolt cutters, please bring them to cut the wire on the root ball. We will still need a lot of help with removing the burlap and planting the trees.

I know there has been a lot of interest in the new pistol range, so if you’ve been waiting for the new range to open, this is a great opportunity to get a little sweat equity in your new facilities.
