From Larry Dark: Howdy

If you look around the clubhouse you will see some much needed and overdue repairs have been done. Almost all of these things happen without any fanfair or anyone noticing. Our new house and grounds coordinator has been busy. I was out the other day and saw Larry Costine on a ladder replacing an outdoor light over the cook shed, then caught him fixing the sound system in the clubhouse . Since his title is coordinator , if he asks for help, please step up.

I know you have heard my longwinded diatribe about our club being a Members club and run by all volunteer staff. But it is true! This is your club, step up! If you see something that needs to be done, say something and get it done. Get involved, there are countless ways to be involved at Cherokee. Come out to the meetings and hear all of the committee heads speak about the various programs happening every month . Ours is the best club in the area , the more people that get involved the better it will be.

Tuesday 8/3 Open practice on the hill. Ranges open by 2p
Tuesday 8/3 Five Stand.  Winds up the 5 stand league. We apparently need to have a shoot off between Mike McInturff and Larry Dark for 1st .  The range will be open for anyone to shoot. Feel free to bring family and friends. We will have hotdogs for everyone.

Thursday 8/5 Cherokee Monthly Meeting. Meeting starts at 7p , A meal is available. Most folks show up around 6:30p. Come on out and see whats happening at your Club. This is a great place to get involved.  Youth team ETSS is scheduled to update club on season outcome and awards. 

THERE WILL BE A BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING FOLLOWING THE NORMAL CLUB MEETING. ALL BOARD OF DIRECTORS ARE URGED TO ATTEND.

Friday 8/6 Arts Old Codgers will be on the hill honing their skills with the shotgun. They get started around 9a and shoot till mid day.

Saturday 8/7 Kettlefoot will host a trophy shoot. Meal available for extra fee. Sign ups start at 9a

Saturday 8/7 Cherokees first ATA 300 target shoot. Sign up 8a Shoot 9a. (This will be on the schedule as a re-occurring event) As a kickoff we are being treated to catered fish fry!! Sunday 8/8 5 stand…..second Sunday fell a little odd on the calendar this month. Range set up by 12p.  So bring lots of shells and come out for 5 stand.
