Howdy
Brr  its done got cold again. But its only 16 Days till the first official day of spring, yes I am counting the days. All events this time of year are “Weather Permitting”

Tuesday 3/5 Open practice on the hill. Trap and Skeet fields should be open by 430p This is a great time to get in a few rounds and if your new to the clay target game , its a good time to come and get involved. There are lots of folks that shoot regularly and any of them will help you get started. If your concerned about being the new kid on the block…don’t we all have experienced being the new kid, after a few rounds you are just one of the regulars.

Thursday 3/7 Youth practice on the hill and Cherokee monthly meeting, if you need to renew ,just come a little early and there will be someone in the office. Meeting starts at 7p , most folks get there about 630p there will be a meal available . Most of the membership may never come to a meeting…but if you wonder what all goes on at Cherokee you may want to attend. Each of the committee chairs will give a report on what they are doing. There’s a lot happening at Cherokee and many of our members don’t take advantage because they don’t know about it. Remember its your club and you can be involved as much or little as you wish.

Friday 3/8  Arts old farts will be on the hill. They get started about 930a this time of year. If your off come on out and get in a couple rounds of trap or skeet. They usually shoot till around noon when the geritol wears off .

Saturday 3/9 Our friends at wilderness road will host their monthly trophy shoot. Sign ups are from 9-11a The shoot is set up like our trophy shoots , 2 rounds of skeet and or 2 rounds of trap. There will be a meal served. They are a great bunch of guys and always treat us like kin. So come out and shoot, its nice going to different clubs  and see the different backgrounds that they offer.

Sunday 3/10 5 stand. Starts at noon  and runs till everyone has had enough, usually around 3p depending on the weather. Rodney and bobby go to a lot of trouble setting this up for us twice a month, they do it because so many people really enjoy shooting it. Come out and give it a try if you haven’t. It is a lot of fun ,and humbling at the same time. If your not familiar with 5 stand ….it’s a practice course for sporting clays. You have many of the same presentations that you will see on a sporting clays course on a much smaller piece of real estate.

There’s lots of opportunities to shoot this week, so get your old smoke pole out and we’ll see you on the range.
