Shotgun News 3/1/2021

From Larry Dark: Howdy

The rain has put a damper on some of our shooting recently. 5 stand this past Saturday was a bit soggy but we got a few rounds in despite the rain. If you weren’t there on Sunday afternoon,  you missed some good shooting.

We have new additions to our Shotgun Newsletter every month. I just wanted to take a minute and say Welcome. If you have any questions “shotgun” please feel free to contact me and i will help you find answers.

We still have plenty of keys available for any member that would like access to the trap and skeet fields. Contact our Keymaster , Joe Trujillo at 423.722.6114 If Joe isn’t there Carrie can help you.

Requirements for getting Keys

  • Be trained on the machines by someone that has keys
  • sign up for 8 hrs of range duty. This can be done on 2 Sunday afternoons or an all day Saturday
  • $5.00 key fee

Upcoming ……..Cherokee Trophy Shoots start back this month on our normal rotation , 3rd Saturday

I want to thank our shotgun members! We have a real special bunch of people that shoot at Cherokee.  Some a little more “special” than others. But seriously our club is run by volunteer members. We don’t have any paid employees. The machines are maintained, filled, opened ,and closed by members. The houses are filled , grounds policed etc again by Volunteer Members. If someone sees something that needs to be done…they do it. Most of the time you dont even know who fixed something, it just gets done!  People at Cherokee are friendly and go out of their way to make new members and guests feel welcome.  I think all of these things are what makes Cherokee feel like a place you want to be involved with. And that’s all due to the people so THANKS.
