From Larry Dark: Howdy
Well I missed one event we have for this weekend. And its one I look forward to every month. 5 STAND ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON I missed that this is the second Sunday of the month. If you haven’t shot our 5 stand recently you should come out and give it a go. Rodney Meade and Bobby Marshall have spent countless hours making this a really nice course for us to enjoy. One thing about Cherokee Rod and Gun Club, we are a volunteer organization. We have no paid employees to keep things up and running. In most things like this , if it works it ok. Not with Rodney and Bobby they are always looking to improve and make it better for all of us. If you see them out at the range , and you like what they do, let them know. After all that is all the pay they get
Now if you haven’t shot 5 stand, Its a practice course for sporting clays. All of the targets are thrown as simulated hunting shots. Some of the shots can be a bit challenging but that’s what makes it fun. Bring lots of shells and get on a squad. If you’ve not shot the course before, just ask someone to walk with you the first time and they will be glad to help. If you shoot a 12 gauge you can use skeet or improved cyl. for 20 I like improved and light mod. If you like subgauges you’re on your own. Bring lots of shells and shoot some clay targets. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us this time.
